What $100 in Bitcoin Would Be Worth Today (Live Numbers)
Published 10 September 2026 · Numbers update daily · 3 minute read
The short answer: it depends entirely on the year, and the year is the whole story. These cards are live, so the numbers below are today's.
Why the year matters more than the amount
Bitcoin does not compound smoothly. It moves in a few violent legs and then goes sideways for years. Buying in early 2013 and buying in early 2014 produced wildly different multiples for the same $100, because one entry was before a leg and the other was after it. Every card above shows the peak you would have hit along the way, which is usually the number people quote and almost never the number anyone banked.
The three scenarios
- Bought and held. Units bought at the close on your date, valued at the latest close. No selling, no leverage, no tax.
- Sold the top. Same entry, exited at the highest daily close in the window. This is the ceiling nobody reaches. More on that here.
- Bought the top. Same dollars, worst possible day. It answers the question people are actually asking: how much could I have lost?
